On May 10, 1991 the International Macintosh Users Group was formed to facilitate the distribution of Macintosh User Group tools and information between Macintosh User Groups internationally and create a method interaction between all Macintosh User Groups. International Macintosh Users Group (IMUG) goals include: Providing an outlet for the sharing of information and User Group tools to all Macintosh Users Groups. Such services will include creating a pool of resources from all IMUG members, distributing a catalog of available
tools and providing a central ordering point. Items of interest will include MUG library selections, newsletter articles, newsletter sharing, MUG CD's, special MUG discount programs, ideas for fund raisers, training programs, MUG products, speaker scheduling, supporting development of new Macintosh products that benefit the User Group community and more.
MUGADMIN the National Macintosh Users Group Administration fidonet echo will be utilized for supporting this international effort along with other electronic message services including AppleLink. IMUG mailings will also be provided as well.

Belgium
Hubert Savelberg of macclub benelux - Mactivity at Wirtzfeld Valley 140, Büllingen, Belgium B-4761 Amsterdam,on May 15 1991 released the MACCLUB BENELUX AWARD 1991. For the first time macclub benelux used the electronic way to collect these information: about 8,000 disks containing a HyperCard stack with pop up menus were sent to Macintosh users in the benelux countries. This action met with a good response since about 2,500 users filled in the electronic questionary. Owing to this unique method of polling the received data could automatically be imported into spreadsheets and evaluated. This survey helps evaluate customer satisfaction of Macintosh software in the Benelux countries.
Iceland
IMUG member Sveinn Gunnarsson at Hverfisgotu 49, IS-101 Reykjavik, Iceland is preparing to launch the first Macintosh BBS system in Iceland. The new BBS
system will support Macintosh message sections, a "BBS in a BOX" CD with 7,000 files, and a 15 year old at the helm of this Iceland Macintosh experience. Sveinn also provides a list of contributing and helpful people as a resource for his users Macintosh needs.
Australia
IMUG member Paul Chow of Australia has opened the first Macintosh iconic BBS in the land from downunder. This new BBS system transports messages between the USA and Australia as a means of keeping us all updated on the latest Macintosh events. The BBS named MacContent has grown by over 50 users in the first month of operation. The system utilizes Telefinder software from Spider Island software and a "BBS in a BOX" CD. Matthew Simpson of Australia is also linked with the AMUG - MacContent BBS and carries a CD system as well. How do I join IMUG?
IMUG membership is $25.00 US for one year and can be purchased by sending $25.00 and the application enclosed to: IMUG, 718 E. Campbell Ave., Gilbert AZ 85234. These monies simply cover the cost of the distribution of information.
